Convert PNG to JPG

Turn PNG images into compact JPG files – ideal when screenshots or photos saved as PNG are too large for email attachments or uploads. The conversion runs entirely in your browser; your images are never uploaded and remain on your device.

How it works

  1. 1

    Select your PNG images

Drag up to 50 PNG files into the box above or pick them via the button – screenshots, scans or exported graphics, for example.

  2. 2

    Set the quality

JPG is preselected as the target format. Choose one of the presets “Best quality”, “Balanced” or “Smallest file”, or use the fine-tuning slider under “Advanced” with its live file size estimate.

  3. 3

    Convert & download

Start the conversion – each file is processed with a progress indicator. Download the JPGs individually or bundled as a ZIP.

Your benefits

Processing on your device only

No image is ever sent to a server – the conversion runs entirely in the browser. Our Content Security Policy technically prevents outbound connections, verifiable in your browser's network tab.

GDPR without side effects

Screenshots containing customer data, scanned forms, internal charts: since nothing leaves your device, there is no data sharing with third parties and no need for a data processing agreement.

Dramatically smaller files, free

JPG typically compresses photos and screenshots to a fraction of the PNG size – perfect for email and the web. No sign-up, no watermarks, up to 50 images per batch.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my file get when converting PNG to JPG?

For photos and screenshots, savings of 60 to 90 percent are common, because JPG compresses photographic content specifically. The live estimate under “Advanced” shows you the expected file size before you even convert.

What happens to transparent areas in the PNG?

JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas are replaced with a white background during conversion. If you want to keep transparency, convert to WebP instead or stick with PNG.

When should I convert PNG to JPG – and when not?

Converting makes sense for photos, screenshots and scans where small files matter. For logos, graphics containing text or images with transparency, PNG is often the better choice, because hard edges tend to show artifacts in JPG.

Which quality preset is right for me?

“Balanced” suits most purposes such as email and documentation. Choose “Best quality” if the image will be edited further or printed, and “Smallest file” when strict size limits apply, for example in upload forms.

Do my PNG files end up on someone else's server?

No. The conversion happens 100 percent locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. There is no upload of any kind.

Can I convert screenshots containing sensitive company data?

Yes, without concern. Because processing takes place exclusively on your device, neither we nor any third party ever gains access to your images – including screenshots with customer data or credentials.
