Your benefits
100% local processing
The conversion takes place exclusively in your browser. A strict Content Security Policy makes data transfers to servers technically impossible – check it yourself in the network tab.
No privacy hurdles at work
Because your images never leave your device, no third-party processing occurs. You need neither a data processing agreement nor sign-off from your IT department – even for internal graphics, screenshots or client material.
Free & batch-friendly
Up to 50 WebP files per run, no sign-up, no watermarks. Since there is no upload, even large sets of images are done in seconds.
Frequently asked questions
Why did saving an image from a website give me a WebP file?
Many websites now serve images as WebP because the format was developed by Google for faster loading times. So when you right-click and “Save image”, you often end up with a WebP file on your computer – even if the picture was originally a JPG.
Why won't WebP images open in Word or older programs?
Older versions of Microsoft Office, many image editors and industry-specific business software do not support WebP, or only partially. JPG, on the other hand, has been readable by practically every program for decades – converting restores full compatibility.
Do I lose quality when converting WebP to JPG?
At the “Best quality” setting, no visible difference is to be expected. Both formats use compression; with a high quality setting, sharpness and colours remain identical to the eye.
Are my WebP files transferred to a server?
No. The entire conversion runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device at any point.
Can I convert several WebP images at once?
Yes, up to 50 files in one batch. Each file shows its own progress, and you can download the results individually or all together as a ZIP archive.
Can I use this for confidential company images too?
Yes. Since processing happens entirely on your device and no data is transmitted, the tool is also suitable for internal presentation graphics, product drafts or client documents.
